Hello, and welcome.
My name is Stuart B, and I’m an occasional writer and lapsed thinker, occasional activist and regular snorer from Manchester, UK, and I will be here to delight, delectate, and generally drive you insane with the sheer inanity of my blatherings..
I am married with 3 kids, 2 of whom are grown up and living their own lives, and a grand-daughter who makes my heart happy and tires the rest of me out.
Politically Left-of-Centre-Left, although with the way the Overton window has shifted over the last couple of years (and even since the Tories made themselves un-electable allowing Labour to take the reins with a landslide Government that only a small minority voted for), I’m closer to hardcore Communism than the mainstream Left-Wing parties
I work full time, in a job that I really don’t want to talk about – I spend enough time working there, I don’t want to waste my limited spare time discussing it!
(Very) frustrated writer, with a penchant for having a great idea, starting to write that, then having another, better idea and starting to write that, only to have another, even better idea…
Which means, of the many, many projects I’ve started hardly any of them have managed to get anywhere.
But I’m hoping to change all that.
Author of The Rob Knash Files, a collection of stories about a paranormal detective by day and frustrated lounge jazz singer by night, who also happens to be the loudest, funniest, and most prolific of The Voices In My Head.
(The reason you have never heard of these books is because they have never been published – the reason they have never been published is because I’ve never actually finished them – go figure!)
Rob has his own blog ( From The Rob Knash Files ), where-in he currently (occasionally) spends most of his time torturing me with stupid songs, but some of his adventures will eventually appearing there.
Expect sci-fi silliness, pop culture references, and political opinions, not necessarily all in the same places, as well as some thoughts about life, the universe, and everything.
But probably not the number 42.
Better minds than mine have written about that.
Occasional photography may be committed (spell-check wanted to change that to “commuted” – what are you trying to say, spell-check?), and possibly something that passes as music, if I ever get my DAW set up again (and find the time to do anything with it!)
And that’s about it – expect to see ruminations about life, re-tellings of funny (ish) things that happened to me, and political angst, among other things.
Planning on weekly long-form posts, and occasional short-form pieces as well.
For Social Media, I post exclusively to The Fediverse, a loose conglomeration of independant, federated servers run by groups and individuals, and can be followed from just about any Fediverse-enabled site at @stuartb or @stuartb .
And that’s about it – I’m off to make myself some cheese on toast with beans for my tea before I go to bed, and no, I’m not sharing!
